Prince's Trust help Mentro Lluest

Mentro Lluest has had some much needed help from the Prince's Trust this month. As a part of their Team programme, participants have recoved a large polytunnel and creating a shrub bed at the entrance to Mentro Lluest’s sensory garden which is being developed by our volunteers.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who participated in the Prince’s Trust Team programme. As a charity, Mentro Lluest relies on volunteers and it can be difficult to get enough volunteers together at once to complete a large task, such as the recovering of this tunnel. The Prince’s Trust have saved us a great deal of work and made an excellent job of it, they should be proud of what they have achieved.

The Prince's Trust Team programme is a 12-week personal development course, offering work experience, qualifications, practical skills, community projects and a residential week.
More than 70% of unemployed participants go on to jobs, training or education within three months of completing.

Through building their confidence and motivation, Team members are encouraged to think about their futures; this includes preparing a post-programme development plan. During the 12 weeks they:

  • Uncover hidden talents
  • Assume some responsibility for tasks
  • Develop team-working and communication skills
  • Gain awareness of their local community and how they can contribute to it
  • Gain nationally recognised qualifications
