The NVQ Level 2 further prepares students for a working environment, building on the NVQ Level 1. Students learn about intensive crop production on a larger scale and are expected to take more responsibility for both their written and practical coursework.
Whereas NVQ Level 1 involves assisting with various tasks, students are expected to be more independent at Level 2 and take responsibility themselves. They care for a dedicated crop or area of land and once sufficient confidence has been gained they can undertake a variety of work experience projects.
Students who achieve this qualification should have little problem finding employment in the horticultural sector.
