School Visit

Year 5 pupils from Llwyn yr Eos Primary School came to visit Mentro Lluest on October 12th as part of their vegetable project in conjunction with Organic Centre Wales. They toured  the organic growing area were they had a chance to pick their own vegetables, many of which they had never seen outside a supermarket.

The children also had a tasting session of salad leaves from Mentro Lluest's polytunnels. Opinions were divided on some of the less well known salad varieties, but everyone was keen to sample the edible flowers like nasturtiums and borage. Before leaving with their harvest, the children were presented with a mammoth pumpkin which took at least three pupils to lift, ready to carve for Halloween.

We hope the children enjoyed their visit to Mentro Lluest and we look forward to welcoming more school parties in the future.

The children's vegetable project had a display in the Christmas Food Fair at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on Saturday November 25th.
